A class on “Digital Cameras for Beginners” will be offered at Kansas City Kansas Community College Saturday, Oct. 10.

One of KCKCC’s most highly rated Continuing Education classes, it will be held in Room 3450 of the Science Building from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with an hour break for lunch.

Taught by Bryan Whitehead, the class will start with basic tips for improving the quality of photos followed by techniques used by professional photojournalists to create eye-catching, story-telling photos. Participants will also learn how to improve image quality by manipulating a camera’s settings. The class will conclude with time to take pictures around campus, transfer them to a computer and get additional coaching.

To get the most out of the class, participants need to bring a digital camera with a charged battery and accessories, especially the instruction manual and computer connection cable.

The cost is $65 ($60 for Blue & Red members). Persons may enroll by phone with credit card payment by calling 913-288-7660 or at the Community Education Building on the east side of the campus at 7250 State Avenue.
