College Advancement
Two four-week classes in Zumba, a Latin-inspired dance fitness class, will be offered at Kansas City Kansas Community College during September and October.
Held Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings, the first four-week session will begin Tuesday, Sept. 8, and run though Oct. 3; the second will be offered Oct. 6-31. Classes will be held each Tuesday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and each Saturday from 9-10 a.m. in Room 10 of the West State Plaza Center located just west of Big Lots at 75th and State Avenue.
A cardio-based workout integrating interval and resistance training to tone the entire body, the class incorporates many dance styles including meringue, cumbia, salsa, reggaeton and more. With easy-to-follow steps, the music and party-like atmosphere, exercising is made fun and enjoyable.
Taught by Shari Augustine, the cost for the class is $35 and persons may register by phone at 913-288-7660; in person in the Community Education Building (CEB) at 7250 State Avenue; or on-line at WebAdvisor© and clicking on Continuing Education, Schedule and Fall 2009.
