Aerial photography of the campus, has been canceled due to weather conditions.

If you see helicopters hovering over Kansas City Kansas Community College Wednesday, do not be alarmed. Its part of an Infrared Survey of several buildings on the College campus at 7250 State Avenue over the next three days.

The infrared surveys are part of a preventive maintenance program of buildings with flat roofs as contracted with ICC Thermal Mapping & Surveying.

In order to capture the imagery needed, a helicopter will fly over the buildings both during the daytime and at night – weather permitting. The day flight will be from approximately 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at a height of 2,500 feet and higher; the night flights will be between 9 p.m.-2 a.m. and will range from 500 to 1,200 feet. College officials said the survey is designed to identify and address roofing problems before they become serious.
