A six-week class on making floral gifts to give or to decorate your own home will be offered at the Technical Education Center of Kansas City Kansas Community College beginning Wednesday, Oct. 28.
Entitled “Floral Design for the Holidays,” the class will meet from 6-9 p.m. each Wednesday through Dec. 9 with the exception of Nov. 25. The Technical Education Center (TEC) is located immediately east of the F.L. Schlagle High School at 2220 N. 59th.
Among the floral designs that will be taught will be centerpieces for the Thanksgiving dinner table, holiday wreaths for the front door, vases made from round ornaments and candlesticks with Christmas tree toppers and florals.
Items needed for the first class include floral wire cutters, scissors, small kitchen knife, glue gun with extra glue, aluminum foil pie pan, two green floral bricks (for silk and dried), two 4-inch tall ceramic pots or flower pots, moss and 10-15 small to medium flowers with leaves.
