KCKCC To Offer Youth Sports Program June 15-July 17

The 14th annual National Youth Sports Program will be held June 15-July 17 at Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Open to the youth in the Kansas City, Kansas community whose parents or guardians meet Department of Health & Human Services income guidelines, the NYSP combines sports instruction with exciting educational programs. Those activities include basketball, football, softball, volleyball, soccer, golf, swimming and track and field as well as Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention, Nutrition and Health, Higher Education and Careers, Math and Science and Service Learning.

Camp hours are 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays with the one exception of Friday, July 17. Also, no camp will be held Monday, July 6.

There is a $25 participation fee which includes daily USDA-approved meals, transportation to and from the college campus, interaction with area professionals, college students and staff, a NYSP T-short and opportunity to win prizes.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration packets are now available at the Community Education Building on the east side of the KCKCC campus at 7250 State Avenue and must be picked up in person. They will not be mailed. Registration will not be considered complete until a current physical examination form is on file.
