Continuing Education and Community Services is committed to providing programs that serve the diverse needs of a wide-range of learners through business services, career and professional development programs, continuing education and community education. we offer non-credit classes and workshops, 55 programs, youth activities, GED preparation and testing, and a variety of special programs to meet the needs of a changing community.
Special Events
Continuing Education and Community Services hosts many special events for the community regarding business and workforce development issues.

Admissions Test Preparations
Continuing Education and Community Services offers online preparation for admissions tests to include: GED, GRE, GMAT, LSAT, ACT, SAT

Adult Basic Education Program / GED
Continuing Education and Community Services offers GED testing. Get back 'Adult Basic Education Program' with our comprehensive GED preparation program developed to improve student skills and taught by people that truly care about your success.

College Credit for High School Students
The Tech Prep and Concurrent Enrollment programs are specifically designed to give young people a jump start to higher education. Each offers distinct services that prepare high school students for college and eventually, a career.

Driver/Rider Safety
Continuing Education and Community Services understands the importance of safe roads in our community. Therefore, we offer drivers education courses for everyone, from youth to seniors. We also offer the most comprehensive motorcycle training program in the Kansas City metro area.

Enrichment

Continuing Education and Community Services recognizes the need for balance by offering classes to enhance and improve your life and the life of your family while having fun.

ESOL (English as a Second Language)
Our non-credit introduction to English for those who have a different first language. This program will help bridge the language divide with critical tools for work and community.

Fifty-Five Plus
Technology, events, crafts, exercise and education; Continuing Education and Community Services offers activities and programs to support and enhance the life of our active mature residents.

Online Learning
Whether it's to advance your career, touch up on skills or just learn about something new, Continuing Education and Community Services offers a large selection of fun, informative and affordable online courses.

Career Certificate Programs

Career Certificate programs are defined as short-term courses designed to prepare individuals to work in various employment fields or to receive a certification needed for licensing. Certificate programs currently offered include: Activity Director, Social Service Designee, Pre- and Post-Real Estate Licensure, Medical Coding, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, Appraisal Pre-Licensure, Home Inspection, EKG Technician and various online certificate offerings through Gatlin Education Services.

Workforce Development

The College’s Workforce Development team actively supports workforce development by providing excellent training and education to support the employed, underemployed, and unemployed. We partner with employers to help them meet their employment needs and provide consulting services and resources to residents and businesses in our service area.

Motorcyle Training

Motorcycle Safety Foundation Basic Rider Course & Driver's Education offered at KCKCC.

  • Motorcycles and helmets are provided
  • All courses are taught by Motorcycle Safety Foundation certified Rider Coaches. Course is approved by the state of Kansas.
  • KCKCC Basic Rider Course is on the approved list of courses eligible for the Motor Vehicle Accident Prevention Course Discount.

Prime Time Club

The Prime Time Club is designed to provide citizens of Wyandotte and Leavenworth counties age 45 and older with a bi-monthly newsletter describing a variety of free and low-cost activities consisting of cultural events, special trips, informational seminars and academic and leisure classes. Community Education Non-Credit Programs

Community Education classes and workshops are designed for individuals who have special interests and want to participate in a learning activity without the pressure of grades. Options include programs in the areas of driver safety (vehicle & motorcycle), wellness, hobbies, music, business, finance, and personal growth.

These programs are open to adults regardless of their educational backgrounds. The only entrance requirement is the payment of fees and being at least 17 years of age, except for "youth" classes. Individuals are encouraged to make requests or offer suggestions for program ideas to the Office of Continuing Education and Community Services.
