Preparing for the HLC Visit
A team of peer reviewers from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) will visit the KCKCC locations March 28-29, 2022. It is important that the entire community of faculty, students, staff and board members engage in the process and prepare for the visit.
During the official HLC visit, you may attend open forums to share feedback with the peer reviewers. Click on the HLC 101 link, below, to see sample questions for each of the different criterion. In addition, as requested by the college community, more HLC mock-visit sessions are being run to help prepare for the visit. These sessions will be held at both the main campus and at TEC, with the TEC sessions being live-streamed to the Pioneer Career Center. Once the HLC Peer Review Team’s visit schedule is finalized, it also will be posted here.
Everyone is encouraged to read the Assurance Argument, a living document which was developed with campus-wide collaboration over many months. This is the document that the HLC Peer Reviewer Team will be studying in preparation for their visit. This document will be made available to the college community once it has been completed (estimated to be by Feb. 10).
HLC Criteria for Accreditation
The Assurance Argument uses the five HLC criteria as a framework:
