Welcome to KCKCC Research Student Symposium in the Psychological Sciences. The goal is to celebrate and engage students’ research in the Psychological Sciences. Faculty are also welcomed to participate.

The Symposium is sponsored by The Psi Beta Chapter and the Psychology Club and Psychology Department in collaboration with the departments of Undergraduate Research, Social Science, and Student Activities at Kansas City Kansas Community College.

About the Symposium

  • It is about the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. All presentations must address an aspect of behavior and mental processes.
  • It is a venue for students to share the results of their empirical studies, class projects, application research, and creative works with their colleagues.
  • It is open to all KCKCC and non-KCKCC students in any discipline.

The What

This Research Symposium is open to all students and faculty studying Behavior(s) and Mental Processes. Whilst the focus of the symposium is “student work”, faculty presentations are also encouraged. These works - both students and or faculty - include, but are not limited to:

  • Application Research.
  • Secondary Research.
  • Empirical Papers.
  • Creative Works.
  • Class Projects.

Presentations will be of two kinds: Oral and Poster.

The When

The deadline for intent to present is 5:00 pm on February 28, 2024 (for Oral Presentation) and March 15, 2024 (for Poster Presentations). The Symposium will be held on Tuesday, April 2nd from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Kansas City Kansas Community College Burke Center

The symposium sponsored by The Psi Beta/Psychology Club and Psychology Department in collaboration with the Departments of Undergraduate Research and Student Activities at Kansas City Kansas Community College.
