The Center for Teaching Excellence supports and provides educational development opportunities rooted in evidence-based, high impact practices for face-to-face, blended/hybrid, and traditional online courses. The goals are to support faculty instruction, student learning, and achievement of student learning outcomes.


The center’s mission is to promote innovative instruction and student learning while leveraging new technologies supported by current educational development research.


The Center for Teaching Excellence at Kansas City Kansas Community will be a national leader in educational development.


There are two pillars of the Center For Teaching Excellence are Craft of Teaching and Academic Discourse.

The Craft of Teaching

This pillar supports faculty with evidence-based, high impact practices that are consistent with research in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
