Scholarships

Awards come from a variety of sources and may not require repayment. The criteria for these awards can vary and may include grade point average, community service, residency, financial need, membership, etc.

Academic Scholarships

Honor's Dean' Scholarship
Offered to current KCKCC students with a cumulative 3.3 GPA in at least 12 hours and are Wyandotte County residents.

Honors GED Presidential Scholarship
Offered to GED graduates who score 3000+ on the GED exam and meet specific Accuplacer cutoff scores.

The Honors Presidential Scholarship
raduating high school seniors who are residents of Wyandotte or Leavenworth counties can apply for the Presidential Scholarship during their graduating semester once they have met specific criteria.

Youth Enrichment Seminar Scholarship
A consortium between the University of Kansas Talent Search Office and KCKCC designed to work with disadvantaged and high-risk students from the summer of grade eight through high school, followed by a full tuition and fee scholarship for up to 4 semesters at KCKCC.

Federal Programs

Federal Pell Grants are awarded to undergraduate students working toward their first Bachelor's Degree.

The amount is determined by the Expected Family Contribution (EFC), the student's enrollment status, and the length of the enrollment period.

Pell Grants & Federal Grant Programs

Student Loans & Work Study Programs

Federal loans are available as a resource for most students. This type of financial aid needs to be paid back when the student leaves school.

Prospective students who qualify under the guidelines of the Federal College Work-Study Program by completing the FAFSA may be employed part-time during college and in the summer months preceding the academic year.

The Kansas Board of Regents has their own application form and priority dates for each of these scholarships. However, there are some criteria that is mandatory for all recipients: be a Kansas resident, enroll full-time in a qualified undergraduate program at a Kansas college or university, and have not already been awarded an undergraduate degree. They also require applications to complete the FAFSA. You can get more information and applications from your high school counselor, or at www.kansasregents.org.

 

Endowment Scholarships

KCKCC Endowment Association has several scholarships bestowed upon them from the Community to benefit the students of KCKCC.

Scholarship Process

Endowment Scholarships

  1. KCKCC Application for Admission must be completed.
  2. Request official final transcripts and scores from high school, college, ACT, ASSET, SAT, GED, etc., to be sent to the Endowment Office as well as an official copy to the Admissions Office.
  3. Complete the FAFSA. Follow instructions on the application and list KCKCC as the college of choice. Allow 4 to 6 weeks for processing.
  4. Complete KCKCC Endowment Scholarship Application Form and return to the Endowment Office.

Application Deadline is June 15th.
Notification of awards are mailed to the students by the Endowment Office.
