Campus Police

KCKCC maintains a Campus Police Department to provide a safe environment on campus and to ensure the protection of the campus community and its property.

Staffed by full-time, certified, and extensively trained officers, campus police patrol inside and outside the campus buildings 24-hours a day year round. Student patrol personnel assist the full-time officers by helping monitor events and activities on campus, patrolling the parking lots during both day and night classes, and serving as a liaison between the students and the Campus Police Department.

The Campus Police Department works in cooperation with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, maintaining 24-hour radio access to the Kansas City Kansas Police Department.

Any reported crimes on campus are investigated by the Campus Police. The passage of the Campus Security and Crime Awareness Act in 1990 requires that all colleges and universities that receive federal financial aid must publish crime statistics. This published brochure is available in the Campus Police Office. The Act mandates that crime information be made available to the students and the media in a timely manner.

Students are reminded that the possession, use, or sale of alcoholic beverages and illegal drugs on campus is strictly forbidden. Other than certified police officers, no one may bring guns or other weapons on campus.
